A bizarre theory that the Chicago Bulls logo viewed upside down looks like a robot having sex with a crab has sent the internet into meltdown.

Created more than 50 years ago by graphic designer Dean P. Wessel, the famous angry bull has become an internationally-recognised logo.

But that hasn't stopped Bulls' fans from having some fun with the iconic image that was created way back in 1966 and has become synonymous with the Windy City.

Never ones to miss a trick, eagle-eyed social media users have claimed the image actually looks like some form of andriod is having sex with a crab when viewed the wrong way around.

And once you've seen the apparent sight of a randy robot getting intimate with the crab, the image is difficult to get out of your mind.

Apparently flabbergasted by the whacky discovery, Reddit user Cvoony wrote: "If you turn the Chicago Bulls' logo upside down, it looks like a robot f*cking a crab."

But not everyone saw the funny side, as a few perplexed bystanders just couldn't wrap their heads around the sexual nature of the image that sent thousands into meltdown.

One innocent Reddit user argued that the image represented a robot reading from a book.

But, another person took things a little further by suggesting that the robot was in fact "reading from the Bible" in what is presumably some kind of divine intervention.

Turning to slightly more pressing matters, the Bulls play host to the LA Lakers on Tuesday night at the United Center in Downtown Chicago.

The Lakers will be hoping for their sixth win on the bounce, in a scintillating start to the season that has put them top of Western Conference.

Head coach Frank Vogel will have been pleased with how his players ground out a narrow 103-96 point win against the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Bulls enter Tuesday's crunch match struggling for form having already lost five games this season.

Jim Boylen's men will be looking to pick themselves up after a disappointing loss to the Indiana Pacers, with SF Otto Porter Jr. failing to make an impact scoring just four points.

Last week's defeat means that the Bulls currently sit second from the bottom of the Eastern Conference having won just two games this term.

Bookmakers don't hold out much hope for the home side, however, with the Lakers pitted as 7-point favourites.
